BACC teamed up with the Thetford Scout Group over July to offer their services to deliver a whole days coaching for 18 of them.
The venue was Bramley lakes at Horsford near Norwich.
The day was split into morning and afternoon sessions with 9 attending on each. Whip and waggler was the order of the day, which saw some good size Common and Mirror being landed on baited sweet corn.
Basic tackling up and casting was first taught and this followed landing of fish and then using a discorger.
At the end of the day all participants were gather together and a starter fishing kit was awarded to two of the most improved young anglers of the day. Scout leader Tim Lewis was impressed with the standard of coaching by BACC and all the young anglers thanked the coaches for giving up a day to introduce them to coarse angling.
In coming months the coaches will be working with the group so that a number of them can achieve their Angling badge.
