Today the Bacc held its first coaching session of 2007. A small group of children fished the river Lark and the Larks Pit in Mildenhall. The first part of the session was held on the Larks Pit, where Roach were the fish of the day, with the kids were exploring the top layer of the water using a waggler float. After lunch the session was moved to the near by river Lark, and soon the kids where trying out feeder fishing in the quick moving river. The kids were continuously working hard, with a very surprising amount of fish being caught. The pick of the day fish, was James Herring's Tench weighing in just less than 4lb, James was delighted with his fish. Mark (Bacc chairman) said it was a great day and a wonderful way to start the year; it just goes to show how sometimes a river can be better than a Pit.
The sessions bait was sponsored by angling direct and both the Pit and the river Lark where lent to us by Mildenhall Lark Angling Club, and the Bacc would like to thank Richard West for all his help in sorting out this session. The next session is planned for the 10/03/07 at the Thetford Bacc River stretch, see you there!!
