It was caught using surface fishing methods, with a 15lb main line an inline bubble float leading to an approximately 4ft hook length, tipped with a size 10 hook and a hair rig. Using a new grange 10mm pop up, with a scattering of dog mixers as a free offering to entice them in. It was the second of two fish that I caught that day, the first one being another common about 8lb or 9lb

"I Only popped over with my mate for an hour and had the Common off the top Floater fishing with a pop-up, the new mini mainline Grange pop-ups which are about 12mmin size, using a Fox S2 size 10 hook, tied in a knotless knot hair rig of about 4ft in length to a Korda float. Happy Days".
