Description: July 2019. Due to low water levels the lake is temporarily closed. Thank you for your understanding. Our lake makes our campsite a popular destination for keen fishermen. This tranquil lake, affectionately known as "Smithy's Lake", was dug in 1983 and is an acre in size. The lake is generously stocked with carp, tench and bream and is a magnet for nature. Expect to see moorhens, mallard ducks, mute swans, coots, king fisher and grey heron.

On a sunny day sit and watch the emperor dragonflies, mayflies, butterflies and water boatman dancing at the water's edge. Tadpoles are abundant in spring and fascinating to watch. The natural environment encourages a wealth of flora throughout the year: the banks being home to yellow flag iris, water avens, meadowsweet, bullrushes, birdsfoot trefoil, teasels and many more wild species.
