Our premier fishing lake with 90 swims over 24 acres of former gravel pit. It is stocked with top quality Carp, Rudd and Roach. Open to day tickets and day season tickets for daytime fishing. Night fishing open to specimen group members only with a waiting list for new members.

Rules:

Barbless or crimped hooks only to be used on the fishery.

2. No night fishing except for Specimen Group Members (Details of which can be obtain through the Country Park Office).

3. No live bait or freshwater fish to be used when piking.

4. No person is permitted to fish without a valid ticket or permit. These are available from the car park ticket machines, Countryside Office at Dinton, the Tea Cosy Cafe at Dinton, or California Country Park Chalet and Touring Park. Holders of season permits have authority and are expected to challenge any person fishing whom they suspect does not hold a valid ticket or permit.

5. Tickets and permits are not transferable. Junior (under 16 years), senior citizens, students and the unemployed are eligible for concession rates.

6. No fish what so ever are to be killed or taken away from the Country Parks.

7. No fishing under any circumstances during the close season, which will be a floating 1 month close season. This will be put in place when fish spawning begins and signage in place.

8. Day fishing starts at 0700 hrs and finishes at dusk. Precise times will be posted on site notice boards, notifying day anglers of when a swim can be occupied and when it should be vacated.

9. No fires to be lit.

10. No litter or discarded fishing tackle of any description to be left on the banks because of the danger to wildlife. Anglers are responsible for litter or discarded fishing tackle of any description found in or within 2 metres of their swims .Litter must be removed from site and not left in dog poo bins.

11. No nut baits to be used.

12. The cutting down, damaging and removal of foliage, plants etc., is strictly forbidden.

13. No person is permitted to fish from a boat of any kind. No swimming is allowed in the Country Park lakes.

14. No fish are to be introduced from other waters.

15. No radio controlled craft to be used on the fishery.

16. Fish must be returned to the water as soon as possible after landing. No sacking of fish.

17. Anglers should observe the Environmental Agency By-Laws. A copy is available for inspection from the Countryside Service Office.

* No person shall fish with more than two rods and lines at the same time.

* No person shall leave a rod and line with bait or hook unattended in the water.

18. Fishing is permitted from pegged swims only.

19. The use of electronic fish-finding equipment is prohibited. 20. No pre-baiting within two swims of another angler or directly opposite without the anglers consent.

21. No reserving of swims except through the Countryside Service for the purpose of organized matches.

Other Rules applicable to CALIFORNIA COUNTRY PARK

* Fishing is not permitted on, or in the vicinity of the paved frontage.

* Anglers may only fish from swims within the Chalet and Touring Park with PRIOR permission of the Managers (contact 'Whispering Firs' on the Chalet and Touring Park). Anglers, other than those resident on the Chalet and Touring Park, will only be given permission to fish during the daytime.

* Chalet and Touring Park Residents may fish at night after purchasing the appropriate ticket.

The Countryside Service is committed to ensuring that all of our customers have a pleasant visit. Whilst poor behavior by anglers is an infrequent occurrence, we do take a strong stance on the issue. We ask that all anglers act not only within the rules but also in the spirit or fair play and respect for others.

Every person fishing in Council Waters is personally responsible for any damage caused by him or her.

PLEASE LOOK ON THE FISHING NOTICE BOARD IN THE ANGLERS CAR PARK AT DINTON PASTURES AND BY THE MAIN CAR PARK AT CALIFORNIA COUNTRY PARK FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THE FISHERY AND OTHER ACTIVITIES TAKING PLACE IN OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY PARKS.

Wokingham District Council or any of its employees or Agents do not, under any circumstances, accept responsibility for any death, illness or injury to persons (other than caused by the negligence of Wokingham District Council, its employees or agents) or for loss or damage to property however arising as the use of the land and premises at the Country Parks.

Parking

We have six car parks and over 500 spaces spread out around the multiple entrances to the park. We charge a car parking fee which helps to contribute to the maintenance of the country park and other nature reserves around Wokingham borough.

Pay and display tickets are available from the car park ticket machines. Car parking charges apply from 6am to 10pm daily. Car parks are open only from and to the advertised time on site. If the gates are open after these times, don't assume they will stay open. Your car could get locked in. If you are locked in it costs £88 to unlock the gates. The main entrance gate automatically opens at 6:45am and closes at 9pm.

You can also use our phone and online payment service to pay car parking charges using your debit or credit card. Call 020 304 60060 from your UK mobile and follow the verbal instructions. You'll need our location code (23817), your payment card details and your car registration. We recommend registering first on the RingGo website. Smartphone users may also download the app from the RingGo website.

Over 4 hours : £6.00 flat rate

Parking season tickets:

Regular visitors to the country park are highly encouraged to purchase a car park season ticket. These are great value with visitors needing to visit just two hours a week to save money. Season tickets are available to purchase via the Wokingham Borough Council website, we are unable to issue or renew season tickets at Dinton Pastures.

Concessionary rate applies to those claiming State pension, and on application for the parking season ticket will have to prove eligibility and provide evidence such as a pension number.

Nearby amenities We're just a 10 minutes drive from Winnersh, Twyford, Woodley and Hurst, where you can pick up food for a picnic and other essentials.

There are a number of family orientated pubs in the area and the park is home to the Berkshire Museum of Aviation. The Trip Advisor website is full of great suggestions of other things to do in the local area. Don't forget to visit our very own Dragonfly Cafe as well.
