W1 Nature Reserve is one of Britain's most historic carp fisheries. Nestled near the village of Wraysbury in Surrey, a short 30 minute drive from London, the crystal waters of its lake provide a dream environment for superb colonies of common and mirror carp, perch, pike, tench, bream and eel. W1's glittering history suggests big rewards for your time and patience. Wraysbury 1 is also home to Carp Team England and hosts many large events such as the World Carp Classic qualifier and BCAC finals throughout the course of the season.W1 holds legendary status in the angling world and by the 1980's and 1990's was serving up a succession of huge carp weighing from 40lb to a massive 56lb+. Since the 1960's, the water has seen many a recordbreaking carp landed. Most celebrated was the 1996 capture of long term resident Mary at a whopping British record of 56lb 6oz.Along with other iconic specimens such as Mallin's and The Pug, monster Mary is indelibly linked with this magical water turning it from an ordinary lake into the stuff of angling legend. W1 has over 14 different 40Ibs fish including 'King Fungus' at an enormous 47Ibs 12oz. Is the best still to come? Rules:

Season: 1st April until 15th March Annually

Rod Limits: 2 Rods 1st Apr until 31st Oct

Rod Limits: 3 Rods 1st Nov until15th March

1. All members are required to carry membership cards at all times. No fishing will be permitted without a valid membership card.

2. All members must possess and carry a valid EA fishing licence, anybody found without one will be asked to leave the venue.

3. You are permitted a maximum stay of 3 nights, 72 hours in one swim, after which you must vacate to a different swim and not return to, nor rebucket the same swim for 96 hours.

4. Similarly, if you fish a swim for 2 nights, 48 hours and vacate it, you cannot return to, or rebucket that swim for 72.

5. You are permitted to be away from the venue for no longer than 90 minutes, except under special circumstances and by prior arrangement with management or one of the bailiffs.

6. No rods can be left unattended with baited hooks in the water at any time; you must wind in if you wish to leave your rods. Rods will be considered to be unattended if any angler is further than the next adjoining swim.

7. Baited hooks are not to be left out of the water.

8. All rods fished at night must be from your designated swim.

9. Anglers may only fish from one lake at anytime.

10. Stalking is allowed but please respect all other anglers and only do this in a safe manner as fish welfare is key. Please always remember to have your landing net and hooking mat with you at all times.

11. Any member fishing Church Lake or Boat Pool must first sign in at the Lodge before fishing and also sign out prior to leaving the venue at the end of their session with full name.

12. All catches must be recorded in the log books in the Lodge as soon after capture as is practical.

13. The Horton Complex has a closed season between March 15th until April 13th. This is applicable to all five lakes on the complex.

14. A maximum of two baited rods may be used from 13 April to 31 October. Between 01 November and the 15 March 3 baited rods may used.

15. All members have 60 minutes once bucketing a swim. After 60 minutes the member either enters that swim or his bucket will be removed.

16. During their session, an angler wishing to move into another swim once it has been vacated, can only place a bucket in one other occupied swim.

17. All buckets used as above must bear the anglers name.



BAIT RESTRICTIONS ON CHURCH LAKE:

1. No prebaiting, except with small quantities of particle, boillie, pellet and 500g maximum to clear spots etc.

2. Please do not introduce bait in the lake prior to vacating your swim as this practice may adversely affect anyone fishing the swim after you. Particularly anglers arriving for short, overnight sessions.

3. If excessive amounts of particles are used, bailiffs will enforce a limit or total ban.

4. Whole nuts can only be used as hookbaits and only proprietary brands of crushed nuts can be used in groundbait or as loose feed.

5. A popup size container of nut hook baits is considered the maximum allowed.

FISH AND FISH CARE:

1. When fishing for Carp you must comply with the following:

* Line must be a minimum of 12 lbs breaking strain.

* No treble hooks or doublehook rigs are allowed (see note on pike fishing below).

* Landing nets must be a minimum of 42" but the use of 50" nets is strongly recommended due to the size of the fish.

* You must have unhooking mats and weigh slings large enough to deal safely with carp in excess of 50lbs.

* Mats need to be at least 4ft long and 2ft wide by 2" thick.

* Korda Carp Care or other suitable fish care solutions must be used on hook holds or abrasions.

* All fish landed must be returned to the water soon as possible.

* Rig checks maybe carried out at any time by bailiffs or RK Leisure management. No fixed leads, bent hooks or long shank curved hooks are permitted.

* When pike fishing (between 1st Oct and 31st Feb) wire traces and treble hooks can be used. Barbed hooks only may be used.

2. Any fish found distressed, diseased or dead should be reported to the RK Leisure Office on 020 7534 0540.

4. All fish, irrespective of size and species should be treated with the same respect and catches of all species should be reported to bailiffs upon request.

5. The use of sacks for fish retention is prohibited.

6. Fish may be retained in the landing net while weighing/photographic equipment are setup and assistance is found for a maximum of 30 minutes.

7. No leadcore or unleaded product leaders to be over 1.5 metre in length.

8. Bait boats are not allowed.

9. Bailiffs have the right to ask to examine any vehicle on company property, to ensure fish are not being removed, transferred illegally or stolen.

10. Net dip tanks are in place, please use these if fishing other waters.

11. Management reserve the right to close swims or entire lake when fish are spawning.



VENUE SECURITY AND CLEANLINESS:

You must close and lock the fishery gates behind you at all times. Do not let any other person in through your card or key at any time.

2. No vehicles may be parked on the road verges outside the fishery. Anyone found doing so will lose their permit. If they are a visitor the person they are visiting will also lose their permit.

3. Toilet facilities are provided and must be used. Please leave them as you wish to find them!

4. No litter will be tolerated. All litter must be removed by the member after fishing.

5. Please keep your keys and access cards safe, £10 will be charged for replacement of lost keys or access cards.

6. Dogs are permitted on the fishery but owners must keep them on a lead and under control, clean up any mess and be with them at all times. Dogs out of sight are out of control. Any aggressive dogs will be banned from the complex for the safety of all members.

7. No barrows, porters or other tackle transporters may be left on the venue between sessions. They must be removed when you leave the venue or stored in the designated areas.

8. Anyone found tampering with the throw lines will lose their ticket. If you notice that a line has been removed or damaged, please report it to a bailiff or contact the RK Leisure office on 020 7534 0540.

9. A strict speed limit of 5 mph must be adhered to on the whole complex.

10. All buildings are non smoking and members are only allowed access to member designated areas.

11. No fires allowed. Barbecues must be off the grass areas.

LODGE RULES:

1. The Lodge is to be kept clean at all times.

2. Anyone removing/stealing any property from the Lodge i.e. cups and cutlery will be banned from all RK Leisure venues.

3. All cups and cutlery etc must be washed, dried and replaced in the cupboards after use.

4. No personal belongings to be left in the shower block.

5. No boots or muddy shoes allowed in the shower block. Please use appropriate shower footwear and leave the shower block as you would expect to find it.

6. Session bait only to be kept in the freezer room.

7. Names must be written on all members baits with a marker pen.

8. No bait is to be kept in the kitchen freezer in the lodge.

9. All food from the kitchen fridges must be removed after a fishing session otherwise it will be destroyed.



VISITORS:

1. No visitors are allowed on the complex without being accompanied by their associated member.

2. Visitors are not allowed on the complex unless they have notified the RK Leisure office of their attendance by email or telephone, or unless they have prior permission granted by the RK Leisure management.

3. Visitors that have not purchased visitors cards must have arrived to the complex in the vehicle of their associated member.

4. It is the member's responsibility to ensure that their guests adhere to all rules.

5. Guests on the Horton complex are not permitted to fish on the lakes at any time.



BOATS AND TREES:

1. Remote control boats are not permitted.

2. Tree climbing is not permitted due to the dangerous nature of many of the trees.

3. Bivvies must be placed in the swims and not on the grass banks.

4. Boats under NO CIRCUMSTANCES is anybody allowed onto the lake in a boat without a bailiff. Should you get a fish weeded or snagged please call the RK Office on 020 7534 0540 however if you put your rod down and be patient in most cases the fish will swim free Never be impatient and please DO NOT PULL FOR A BREAK!

6. The only time an angler is permitted to enter the water is at times of low water levels, to ensure the safe landing and returning of fish.



GENERAL BEHAVIOUR:

1. Permit holders under the influence of alcohol, drugs or solvents will be removed from the venue by the police.

2. Please be sensible, enjoy your fishing on the Horton complex and allow others to do the same. You will lose your membership if you do not.

3. RK Leisure reserves the right to amend rules at any time. All decisions made by management are final. RK Leisure and management will not accept responsibility or liability for any loss, damage or injury to person, property or vehicles, however caused whilst using these premises.

4. Please respect other anglers. To avoid confrontational situations, check with anglers in adjacent swims as to where they are fishing before casting out yourself. If you are unsure of swim's water then please ask.

5. All gates must be closed and locked immediately after entry or exit. All vehicles must be parked in designated car parks.

6. Bailiffs are authorised to confiscate the permit of any permit holder who is considered to be endangering their own, or any other person's safety, by being under the influence of alcohol, drugs, solvents, etc., and to remove them from the fishery.

7. Bailiffs reserve the right to administer an official warning or temporarily suspend a member while allegations of wrongdoing are investigated.

8. No firearms of any kind are allowed onto the venue at any time, including airguns and crossbows.



GENERAL:

1. RK Leisure do not take any responsibility for any damage, loss or theft to any vehicles, fishing tackle or boats whilst on the Horton Complex.

2. All memberships are non refundable. Under no circumstances does RK Leisure offer any refunds.

3. All 10% deposits are non refundable.

4. All anglers must be in possession of a current EA rod license. Failure to do so will resort in a ban.



ISLAND LAKE BOAT RULES 2019/2020:

The season on the Island Lake will commence on 13 April and end at midnight on 15th March 2019.

1. All boats must be rigid with a minimum of two flotation chambers. No inflatable boats to be used under any circumstances. Recommended boats BIC 252 or 245 if unsure please check.

2. No boat may be used during the hours of darkness in any circumstances whatsoever. A permit must be issued before you have authority to use a boat on the venue.

3. The use of alcohol or drugs by boat users will not be tolerated. If you are over the legal limit to drive then do not use a boat. Anyone found abusing drink or drugs will have their ticket confiscated and will face a life time ban and possible prosecution.

4. All boats must be locked away in the boat compound or taken home after use. Any boats left outside of the compound will be confiscated.

5. A lifejacket must be worn at all times whilst using a boat. A buoyancy aid is not permitted. There are no exceptions to this rule whatsoever. The minimum requirement is an automatic inflation jacket approved to c.e, m.s.a, or similar specifications and approvals. Such lifejackets are available from chandlers and good tackle shops.

6. You should be aware of the risk involved in using a boat at all times, RK Leisure will be pleased to offer further safety advice if required but at the end of the day it is your responsibility to ensure that you take the necessary precautions. Your life is valuable, be sensible and be safe. A breach of any of the above regulations will result in your permit being withdrawn.

7. No angler may use a petrol outboard to power their boat. Only electric motors or oars are permitted.

8. No visitors are allowed on the fishery unless they are in possession of a valid visitor's permit. Please see rules under 'visitors' section above.

9. Anyone found tampering with the throw lines will lose their ticket. If you notice that a line has been removed or damaged, please report it to a bailiff or contact the RK Leisure office on 020 7534 0540.

11. All other RK Leisure angling rules as outlined in this document apply to all members.

12. There is a 3 rod limit rule during the entire season.

13. All boats must display a valid boat inspection pass sticker. Anyone found without this pass will be banned from all RK Leisure venues.

14. If a member is not renewing for the following season your boat must be removed from the compound for the following season. RK Leisure have the right to confiscate your boat if it is not taken off the premises by the start of the new season (on or before 15th March).

15. Members using a boat must be 18 years or older.
