Description: Bitterwell Lake, also referred to as Bitterwell Pond, is situated near the junction of roads leading to Coalpit Heath and Ram Hill. This man-made lake is now used as a fishing lake and is owned by Westerleigh Parish Council.

Monday 7AM until 8PM Tuesday 7AM until 8PM Wednesday 7AM until 8PM Thursday 7AM until 8PM Friday 7AM until 8PM Saturday 7AM until 8PM Sunday 7AM until 8PM



The following rules must be adhered to when visiting Bitterwell Lake.



General Lake Rule:

No fires or BBQ's

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Please keep the pathways clear.

Children under 16 to be accompanied by an adult unless prior permission is granted by the fishery manager.

No Anti social behaviour.

Anyone who wishes to fish must purchase a day ticket.

Day tickets are collected from your peg.

You do not need to pre book unless Night Fishing.

To book night fishing contact the fishery manager.

All fish to be returned to the water alive and well.



Rigs and Tackle:

Maximum of 2 rods per angler.

No surface fishing.

No Zig rigs.

No Bait boats.

Barbless hooks only.

Maximum HOOK size 10.

No BRAID, this includes coated Braid. MONO only.

All feeder or leger rigs must be completely free running with nothing above the lead or feeder.

NO fixed or semi fixed rigs.

No leadcore or leaders

Maximum of 1.5 oz leads or 45g feeders.

No elasticated feeders

No lure fishing, spinning, fly fishing or sea fishing tackle.

Keepnets in Matches only.

You must have an appropriate landing net to fish.

Rig checks may be carried out by the fishery manager or lake staff only.



Bait Rules:

Boilies can be used as hookbait only.

No nuts.

No prebaiting.

No loosefeeding of floating baits.

Please do not throw unwanted bait onto the bank.

NO high oil pellets in winter.



Fish Care Rules:

Unhooking mats must be used when unhooking fish on the ground. (mat hire costs �2).

Coats, towels, cushions, carrier bags etc are not unhooking mats.

No standing up with fish.

Do not use towels or rags to hold fish.

Please return netted fish to the water in your landing net.

Do not leave rods unattended.

When weighing or photographing fish please have all necessary items ready and do not leave the fish unatteded for any period of time.

Return the fish to the water as soon as possible.



Anglers who break the rules may be asked to leave without a refund.
