Description: Red Kite was excavated in 2011 and was dug as a purpose built match lake. It covers nearly three acres with 36 well spaced pegs, 18 either side of this 60m wide lake. Being so large it suits the feeder, waggler or pole. It is heavily stocked with Carp and F1's. With the disabled angler in mind it has a road built around it and a car parking space in each peg and features extremely large landing stages to allow for a helper.

The general rules apply to all anglers whether they are fishing on a day ticket, an open or club match.

All day ticket anglers must pay at the selfservice ticket office BEFORE fishing.

Barbless hooks only are permitted at the fishery.

The use of cat meat, dog meat or similar pet products is banned.

One angler per peg. Maximum two rods per person.

Juniors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Please do not leave unattended lines in the water.

No fish are to be harmed or taken away. No spinning, lures or live/dead baiting.

No dogs, fires, loud radios, tents, swimming or wading.

Please do not leave litter behind, use the bins provided.

Anyone found harming birds or wildlife at the fishery will be banned.

All carp and silver fish over 6 inches long must be netted.

The swinging of large fish to hand damages mouths and anyone caught doing so will be banned / disqualified.

All persons entering the site do so at their own risk. No responsibility is accepted by the owners for any damage, injury or loss to their person or property.

There is no night fishing available on the fishery.

Anyone found breaking the rules will be asked to leave the fishery without refund.

In addition to the general rules we ask open match anglers to abide by the following rules.

In addition to the general rules we ask open match anglers to abide by the following rules.

Please separate silver fish and small carp to 3lb from the larger carp. The maximum amount of fish permitted in each keep net is 80lb; any fish in excess of this weight should not be recorded as part of the angler's weight.

Keep nets should be stretched out on the bank before the match, 15 minutes before the start of the match the organiser should sound a whistle to signal it is OK to put your nets in the water.

Any feed pellets whether they are hard pellet or expanders must be 'fishery own'. This will be the subject of random checks. Anyone found to be using other feed pellets will be disqualified from the match. Fishery feed pellets must be fed without the addition of any flavourings or oils but you are free to flavour hook pellets.

The use of buoyancy aids for hook baits and artificial hook baits is permissible. The use of floating baits is not permissible.

Matches will be five hours in duration from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. unless British Summer Time is in effect when they will be six hours from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

It is not permissible to feed your swim with a cup attached to your pole whilst you have a baited hook in the water but you may feed by hand or by catapult.

Competitors may only break the water prior to the whistle to position keep nets, plumb the depth and to take water for mixing ground bait. The match organiser will start and end the match with a whistle or horn. Any angler who is playing a fish on the sound of the whistle must shout 'fish on' and then will be given 15 minutes to land the fish or it will not count.

Please do not roll fish down the length of the net at the weigh-in. Fish should be transferred by pulling the bottom hoop through the keep net.

The open match scales will be set at zero after each batch of fish are returned, irrespective of the number of weighs per angler.

Certain baits may be restricted at various times, the management will advise.

The use of any fish locating equipment is not permitted.

From 01 April to October 31 matches on Swallow lake are pole only (maximum distance 14.5 metres).

If there is a peg free between anglers each angler may only fish to their side of the pallet in this empty peg. If there are two free pegs each angler may fish one third of the distance between the two empty pegs.

Facilities:

The fishery benefits from four quality fully tiled toilets with one dedicated to the ladies and another for disabled anglers. There is plentiful hard standing car parking for all of the lakes and clean gravel paths lead to well maintained permanent pegs.

There is a cafeteria that is open for breakfast on open match days (Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday) and the fishery welcomes match and pleasure anglers alike.
