Description: Fenland Fisheries was established in 1984 when Proprietor Mike Hawes purchased the 17-acre site to further his ambition to work in the Aquatics business, having already stocked a good number of the countries lakes with carp through his numerous contacts.
At the time the site consisted of 2 lakes previously used for trout fishing without any buildings or amenities. Mike immediately implemented a development plan laying on basic services, constructing permanent roads and building the retail shop.
In 2003 we branched out yet again developing a new business opportunity growing-on and supplying carp for re-stocking, soon becoming the UK premier large carp supplier. We have not stood still, recently developing another very successful carp fishery which opened in 2015 and establishing our own fully English bred strain of the carp, with what we believe to have the best growing potential in the UK today.
So 33 years on and Fenland Fisheries continues to develop going from strength to strength, now employing 6 full time staff with a combined 150 year's experience in aquatic services and fishery management.
