Description: Our main pool and the specimen pool are renowned for big carp and we cater for both match fishermen and pleasure anglers alike.The main pool is suitable for all, as there is a roadway access down one side of the lake and there is a gentle slope down to the waters edge.

Gorsty lake is an ancient natural water which has a good head of double-figure fish. The specimen pool is a smaller but deeper lake. It has just been re-stocked and now has over 200 carp from 7Lbs to 24Lbs with 2 in excess of 33lbs.

The main lake has a variety of smaller species including bream up to 4lbs, crucians, tench, roach and rudd, and perch and of course carp up to about 30Lbs.

Rules:

You must have a valid Rod Licence to fish at our fishery. We carry out regular checks.

To avoid 'Mistakes' please check up on our rules before you come to Fish.



Barbless Hooks Only:

No Barbed or Micro-Barbs allowed.



General Behaviour:

Due to the fishery being near to a residential area, please keep noise levels to a minimum. Anyone breaching this rule will be told to leave.



Strictly No Fires:

Fires on the ground cause damage and upset the neighbours and other anglers. Portable barbecues are OK, but only for a maximum of one hour while food is cooked. No re-fuelling used trays with wood or charcoal please.



No Litter:

Please do not drop Litter. We do provide bins around the lake for your convenience.



Well Behaved Dogs Permitted:

All dogs must be kept on a lead. Owners' discretion to ask to leave if anyone complains. Please clear up after you dog.



Ground Bait:

Small amounts of ground bait are acceptable for example in SWIM FEEDER or METHOD FEEDER. Method Feeders without elastic only.



Floating Baits:

Are allowed including bread and dog biscuits, but please be mindful if there is a match on. Bait drifting into another angler's swim can be offensive and may lead to conflict.

Banned Baits:

The following baits are not allowed.

Peanuts

Uncooked Hemp (hemp in a tin is ok)

Aniseed

Boilees (the hard variety, large soft pellets are OK)

Cat Food



Beach Caster Rigs:

Are not allowed.



Keep Nets:

Are only allowed in matches.



Opening Times and Prices:

Gates open 7AM and close at Dusk or 9PM, whichever is earlier. If you need access outside these times please call Phyllis on 07799 240258.

Facilities:

The main lake is suitable for disabled anglers, with parking in bays around one side, gentle slopes down to the pool and even surfaces at the pegs.

There is also a Toilet for your convenience.
