Description: The Coveys consist of 6 lakes with 173 pegs in total across the 6 lakes combined.

The Covey Lakes are set over 5 acres of scenic countryside and has been called the UK's number one match fishing venue. The Covey has been designed with 6 individual lakes to form a 173 peg match water as they are all designed to compete fairly against each other with the same widths/depths and style snake lakes! No pegs or rods over lap each other making this a unique fishing water. There is a complex pump system throughout the 6 waters to aerate and provide perfect conditions for these heavily stocked waters comprising of large F1, Mirror, Ide and Commons. The carp weigh up to approx 12 lbs but this weight is always being increased as the fish are growing steadily, but the majority are between 1 lbs to 6 lbs. In 2019 winter we added a record number of F1 stock fish weighing 2 lbs each, spread across the Coveys we added 6,000 lbs to keep our match fishing waters to the high standard they are known for.

Our match attendances week in week out are some of the highest in the UK (even in the snow, storms and hail!) so you will be sure to have a good day with a welcoming atmosphere to everyone from beginners to professionals.

The Coveys are at their deepest 7ft and 10 inches in the shallowest points across and 11 to 14m wide. Ideal for pole fishing with many different styles of fishing which work well consistently producing huge weights all year round, with a record match weight caught on the 10th of September 2015 on Covey 3, peg 52, Ste Openshaw caught 291lbs and 6oz of mirrors, commons and ide by fishing caster shallow and worm down the edge!

Open Matches run all year round on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. OAP (over 60yrs) and Disabled matches run all year round on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
