Description: This fishery contains one of the largest carp in the entire country with it being caught at a staggering 57lb, which is why it has hit our top spot for Fishing spots Cheshire. The fishery contains a wide variety of species such as Pike (up to 31lb), Tench, Perch, Roach, Bream, and Carp. Prebaiting swims is only allowed during the open Fishing season.

Fishing is allowed during the Fishing season on days when the Park is open, from the reach on the West bank of Tatton Mere only.

See map overleaf. Pike Fishing may extend up to the Willow tree.



Fishing Times:

High Season: 16th June 2018 to 28th October 2018

7.00am to off water by 6.30pm (last admission 4.00pm, gates locked 7.00pm). Daily except during some special events.

Low Season: 29th October 2018 to 14th March 2019

7.00am to 4.30pm (last admission 2.30pm, gates locked 5.00pm). Closed Mondays.

Entry before 10.00am is via Rostherne Gate which opens at 7.00am.



Fishing Season:

Tatton enforces a Closed Fishing Season: 15th March - 15th June inclusive.



Fees:

Adults: Whole Day: - £8.00

Children under 12: Whole Day: - £5.00

Day Fishing Tickets purchase on the bank before 10.00am and thereafter should be purchased on entry at the Knutsford or Rostherne gates and will include current Park admission charges.



Match Bookings:

Clubs (up to 40 pegs) may book. Fees can be paid in advance. Please contact Tatton Park General Office on 01625 374400.

Entry before 10.00am is discretionary via Rostherne Gate exit.lane.

All vehicles must park in the car park at the Knutsford entrance.

Walk 100 metres down the drive; turn right along the path towards the west bank of the Mere.

The Fishing reach is a further 300 metres over uneven ground and extends from the wood (Approach Clump) 400 metres northwards.

You may stop your car to unload/load on the road, but under no circumstances drive or park on the grass.

Should disabled anglers need a helper to assist in drop-off and removal of vehicle, then one helper may fish free of charge on the day.

Any other arrangements must be made by prior agreement with the Park Manager and include display of a specific permit authorising off-road parking.

Licence:

Environment Agency Rod Licence is required available at Post Offices. You may be asked to produce this by Tatton staff.



Two rods per licence.

KEEP NETS Keep nets are allowed provided they are staked out correctly in a minimum 2 feet of water up to the top ring of the net. All fish to be returned.

BAIT Live bait and the use of coarse fish dead baits are not allowed but ground bait is permitted.



Reminders:

1. Discarded nylon line and hooks are a hazard to visitors, animals and wildlife. Please ensure they are removed from the Park.

2. Please take your litter home.

3. Fishing from boats is not allowed.

4. Barbless hooks only allowed. (incl. lures)

5. Please be aware of other Park Users, including those using the Mere



Safety:

1. Blue/green algae are present in the Mere all year. Please wash hands before eating.

2. Wading is allowed but extreme CAUTION must be taken. Steep drop into DEEP WATER.

Bloodworm and Joker MUST NOT BE USED on the Mere
