Description: Blencarn Lake is as natural looking a body of water as you'll come across, spring fed as it is from Crossfell and the upper Pennines. And yet - it's a man-made lake, the idea and now the legacy of Ken Stamper, late of Blencarn Hall who created this place of beauty from a boggy piece of farm land.
The lake has offered scenic trout fishing since then. See what The Cumberland and Westmorland Herald's Terry Cousins had to say when Ken passed away. Extending to 15 acres, the water is home to the resident brown trout and is stocked regularly with rainbow trout. You will require a rod fishing licence to fish at Blencarn. See Fishing Licence for further information. |
