Description: Redhouse Lake
This lake which is a former gravel pit covers approximately 22 acres water area. The area around the pit has been landscaped and trees set. The lake varies in depth from 20 feet to 2 or 3 feet in the margins with the average depth at ten meters being 8 feet.
The species of fish to be caught are Bream, Roach , Carp and Pike. The bream have been caught up to 17 lbs and Carp to 40 lbs. with many Roach in the smaller size ranges. The largest recorded pike caught to date ( March 2000 ) being a specimen of 29 lbs. with lots more caught in the teens of lbs. Access is very good with parking areas around two sides of the lake, the banks are very safe since the pits once completed were graded down a fine slope to the full water depth.
The location is in the Sawley area with vehicular access to the parking areas ( suitable for disabled or infirm anglers in the areas nearest to the parking areas).
