Description: All of our apartment are a stones throw (or short cast) from our 17 lakes. And don't forget our tackle shop is open X days a week for equipment and bait as well as a chat about the one that got away. There can be few places quite like Clawford to get away from it all and enjoy a day's worl-class fishing. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, our lakes are home to an incredible variety of fish including tench, rudd and carp up to 40lb.

We care about the welfare of our fish

We pride ourselves on the welfare and sustainability of Clawford Lakes. Fish as well as the Wildlife and Birdlife that share our beautiful 80 acre estate. That is why we only allow our Guests to Fish in our Lakes, and we also ask you to please abide by our fishing rules. Thank you in advance.

Fishing on our lakes requires all persons over 12 years to have a licence which can be obtained from any Post Office.

Our fishing rules:

Following our rules makes fishing more sustainable and enjoyable for everyone

To fish our lakes at Clawford, all anglers must be in possession of a current EA rod licence.

Yes:

Barbless hooks only.

Landing nets and unhooking mats must be used.

Only pre-prepared (shop-bought) particles, nuts and pulses to be used.

Make sure nets, mats and slings are dry before fishing commences.

Maximum two rods per angler.

All fish must be returned to the lakes in a timely manner Keepnets to be used at fishery managers discretion.

Please report any tethered fish or tackle to management.

No thank you:

No fixed rigs or bolt rigs.

No braided mainline.

Live baits are not permitted.

When targeting the specimen venues could you also please; Use a minimum of a 42? landing net and a large padded unhooking mat.

Keep bite alarm volume to minimum.

The use of sacks is not permitted in any venue.

Some general rules

All litter to be taken away by anglers.

All juniors must be accompanied by an adult.

No climbing trees.

No swimming or wading.

Please respect other anglers and wildlife.

Fishing Tariff

Half day : £7.00 ( morning or afternoon)

Full day: £10.00

Week price: £35.00.

Fishing equipment is also available to hire from reception:

Rod & reel: £ 5.00 per day.

Tackle box, landing net, rod rest & seat: £3.00 per day. Returnable deposit of £10 is required on hire of equipment.

Charges: £5 per day.

Open all year. No night fishing.

Facilities:

Our tackle shop is open 9 until 3 Monday to Friday with a comprehensive stock representing a wide range of major fishing tackle manufacturers. We always have fresh and frozen bait available with refrigerated storage and cold room to ensure our bait stays fresh. It's always worth popping in to browse our stock and talk to our knowledgeable team for tips, techniques and up to date catch reports.
