Description: This long narrow lake has a great mix of fish species and is a really great venue for the all-round angler or pleasure fisherman. Lower Slade is stocked with mirror and common carp to 27lb, bream to 8lb, perch to over 4lb, roach to 3lb and pike to 27lb and Eels.

Lower Slade Fishing Regulations and Rules:

01. All Anglers must have an Environment Agency rod licence.

02. Anglers must obtain a fishing permit from listed agents prior to fishing.

03. Anglers must carry a valid permit with them at all times.

04. Day permits are valid from sunrise to sunset, 24 hour permits are valid from date and time of arrival at the fishery - this must be written on the permit.

05. No fly fishing,

06. Anglers must have a large padded unhooking mat.

07. Anglers must have a minimum 42 inch landing net.

08. Carp must not be kept in keepnets.

09. Biosecurity - All nets MUST be disinfected and then dried before fishing here.

10. Barbless or micro barbed hooks only.

11. Carp anglers must have minimum 15lb Line.

12. Take all your littler home. Any litter in yourswim is your responsibility. Any litter left inyour swim will result in a ban.

13. Dogs are permitted to accompany anglers on a lead and if dog litter is picked up.

13. Maximum of 3 rods.

14. Wading is not permitted.

15. No carp sacks - flotation slings only.

16. Bailiffs patrol regularly and may ask to check rigs.

17. No fixed leads - safe rigs only.

18. No lead core.

19. Carp mouth and body treatment is required.

20. No bait boats or boats of any kind.

21. No Livebaiting.

22. No Plastic or artificial baits and no peanuts.

23. No digging for bait on site.

24. Do not leave rods unattended.

25. Braided mainline can only be used on spod and marked rods unless lure fishing.

26. Bivvies must not be unattended for more than an hour, they will be removed by bailiffs or staff if left unattended for longer.

27. Swims cannot be reserved.

28. Fishing from swims only.

29. Fish must not be held in a retaining sling for more than 30 mins while cameras are set up.

30. Regular permit checks are carried out by the bailiffs.

31. No bonfires or BBQ's are allowed.

32. No fishing from the dam.

33. No camping unless your fishing.

34. All fish must be returned to the reservoir. Anyone found removing fish will be prosecuted under the Theft act.

35. Any breaches of rules and you may be asked to leave the property and your permit will be non-refundable.

36. The bailiffs and staff are here to help - please ask them if you would like any information,

37. The Trust reserves the right to close part or all of the fishery at any time without notice.

38. No child under 14 may fish unless accompanied by a paying adult over 18 years old.

39. No child under 16 may fish overnight unless accompanied by a paying adult over 18 years old and then only with the permission of the parent or guardian.

40. Children under 12 may fish for free as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult over 18 years old and only with the permission of the parent or guardian.

41. Anglers fishing at the reservoir do so at their own risk on the understanding that the Trust does not accept liability for loss, damage or injury to persons or property whilst on the Trusts land or water.

Additional Pike Fishing Rules, all of the above Rules apply also.

01a. Permitted methods of fishing are: Plugs, Spinners, Jigs, Flies, worms or dead sea fish.

02a. Do not discard dead sea fish into the reservoir when leaving to avoid pollution false alarms.

03a. Single hooks only, strictly no trebles on lures or bait fishing.

04a. Hooks to be no larger than size 2.

05a. Hooks must be mounted on a wire trace.

06a. Anglers must have forceps.

07a. No gaffs allowed.

08a. Pike must be weighed in a sling or net.

09a. They must not be hung by the gills.

10a. No sacks for holding fish - flotation slings only for setting up photographic equipment.

11a. Fish must not be held in a retaining sling for more than a few minutes while cameras are set up.
