Description:

Kingfisher Lake was built in 1980 as water storage for the former dairy herd and cattle troughs for drinking water. The EA stocked the lakes in 1982 with Carp, Tench, Perch, Roach, Bream and Rudd. Fishing started on the lake in 1985 as a day ticket water. The lake was cleaned out in 2006; the fish were removed and the carp were returned after the work was completed. By this time the Carp had grown considerably with 37lb 8oz being the biggest. We created 17 swims. However, as the fish pursued to fatten we reduced the amount of swims we have to 14. The swims are made out of sleepers and chipped bark and are all in good condition. We are constantly doing work on the lake to improve the fishing. As time has gone on the fish have continoued to grow we now have carp over 40 lb, also catfish over 69 lb

At the end of the lake where peg 1 is situated, the lake is 2-4 ft deep even around the island. Although by pegs 11-14 the depth by the island goes down to 8 ft. Pegs 16-17 are on the opposite side of the lake and are backed by a open countryside. Opposite pegs 1-7 there are no swims therefore anglers can cast across the lake and fish just off the rushes. The lake is surrounded by green fields, large oak trees and an abundance of wildlife. Kingfisher Lake is in all a very peaceful setting, surrounded by natural beauty. Also the lake is spring fed.

We supply landing nets when fishing on this lake, also if your in a match we will supply keep nets and weigh slings. We will also weigh in your match.
