Description:

5 Acre Lake is a day ticket Carp fishery located in North Cave, East Yorkshire and easily accessible from the M62 and A63. This deep clear lake was formed from an old quarry and is stocked with over 120 carp. The lake bed is predominately gravel but in summer the shallower areas of the lake take on weed which contributes to the growth and health of our fish by supplying a rich natural food source. We currently have 10 fishable pegs which are wood chipped, with 3 of them being double pegs. However we only allow a maximum of 7 anglers on at any one time so anglers will always have a choice of swims.

Rules:

1. No wet nets, mats or cradles to be brought on site. These have been proven to spread the disease KHV (Koi Herpes Virus).

2. Dip your nets We have a net dip near the gate. Please place your nets in the tank before you find a peg. (Not in use November to March)

3. All anglers must be in possession of a Carp Care Kit and treatment given to all hook holds and any other damage found on the fish. We recommend Propolis which is far cheaper than most carp care kits too!

4. A large unhooking mat with a minimum size of 110cm x 70cm (43" x 28") or any suitable cradle.

5. Minimum size landing net of 36"

6. Barbless hooks only.

Leads on lead clips must be able to eject without undue force (anyone found jamming tail rubbers onto lead clips will face a life time ban) Swivels on semi-fixed rigs must also be able to pull free from the lead without undue force and run up and down the line with out any hindrance.

10. Boiles & Pellets only. No particles, nuts, maggots, dog biscuits etc. (Hemp & Sweetcorn allowed December to February)

11. No artificial baits. (pop-ups are a good alternative) The ban includes fake corn, zig aligners & Korda kickers.

12. No Tents - Bivies & Brollies only.

13 No BBQ's or fires.

14. No Dogs as we have our own dogs on site

15. Bait boats allowed, providing they're used sensibly

16. No litter including cigarette butts and discarded tackle. All litter must be taken home.
