Description:
This water that is situated within a public park and can get quite busy during the summer months and also during the weekend with park visitors The water is fairly shallow in most places, but does offer the chance to catch a wide variety of coarse fish. The water really comes into it's own during the colder months when the chance of catching a specimen pike is the target. There are a number of islands here, and if the pegs are available then give them a go as the lakes do not have that many fish holding features. There are vast shoals of roach, rudd and perch, but they do not grow to any great size and average about 5- 6 to the pound. Tench can be taken on sweetcorn with the biggest fish to just short of 6lb, but average nearer 2lb. Carp are present to mid doubles, but there are plenty of others in the 3 - 5lb bracket, which are taken on meat and corn. There are plenty of bream, with some running up to 10lb. As stated above, the pike fishing is very good, but the only method that you are allowed to use is deadbaiting. This is not a big issue as there is plenty of weed less areas to present the bait. The sea baits work well, as do dead coarse fish such as roach and rudd. |
