Description: The ponds were created in 1825 and 1829 to supply a waterwheel at Parkend Ironworks. Today, they are used for fishing by the Yorkley Angling Club and the site makes an idyllic spot to view local birdlife. Look out for the Mandarin ducks, reed warblers and a pair of nesting mute swans.

There are two lakes, both of which offer a variety of fish to impressive sizes:

Rules:

Yorkley and District Angling Club control four waters in the Forest of Dean and full details of each is to be found on the relevant page.

The Club rules for fishing all waters are :-

1.Members bind themselves to return all Fish to the water.

2.Pre-Baiting and the use of nuts prohibited. Boilies may be used.

3. Maximum number of Rods used in accordance with N.R.A. Ruling.

4.Pike fishing, Live Baiting, using Perch or Roach to a maximum of 6 inches from Club Waters is allowed. Deadbaits may also be used.

5.Junior Anglers may only Night fish when accompanied by an adult.

6.Only Barbless Hooks

No Litter

Anyone found leaving litter will be banned from the club for life

Night Fishing is permitted only by holders of a night permit.
