Rules:

Conduct:

01. Anglers must have a valid Environment Agency Rod Licence and be able to produce it to Environment Agency Bailiffs.

02. Day tickets and membership cards must be shown on request of Park Staff and Bailiffs.

03. No trees, shrubs or plants to be cut from any angling position.

04. No open fires within the Country Park. Camping stoves acceptable.

05. No radios or stereo equipment other than units with earphones may be used.

06. Anglers must be considerate to other Park users, and be responsible for the safe use of equipment.

07. No litter or discarded fishing tackle to be left in the Country Park, please use the bins provided.

08. All fish caught (including any Pike) must be handled correctly and returned to the water alive and unharmed.

Catches of Pike must be reported to the Head Ranger through the Park Shop.

09. Dogs must be kept under control and not disturb other anglers or park users.



Tackle and bait:

01. Surface bait may be used and is restricted to fishing only 1 rod and this must be in hand whilst baited, not left on rests or unattended.

02. Fishing is from designated swims only.

03. Rods and lines must be suitable and appropriate for coarse fishing. Park Staff and Bailiffs are entitled to inspect equipment for suitability.

04. The use of keep nets or carp sacks is not permitted unless at an approved match.

05. All anglers must use a suitable landing net and unhook mat whilst fishing.

06. When selling all season and day tickets the Staunton staff may ask to view both landing net and mat.

07. All seed and nut bait must be properly prepared by soaking and cooking as required.

08. Anglers may erect bivvies so long as they do not block access around the lake.

09. Tents are not permitted.

10. Baited rods must not be left unattended either in or out of the water at any time. This is an EA bylaw.

11. Fishing with live bait for predatory species is prohibited.

12. When dead baiting only sea fish may be used.

13. Swimming or wading is strictly prohibited.

14. No fixed rigs are permitted, only free running leads or feeders to be used.

15. All hooks must be barbless. Access

16. All pathways and tracks must be kept clear at all times to allow access.

17. Junior anglers may only fish dawn till dusk unless accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18.

18. Children under 12 may fish free with adult members over 18 using one of their rod quota and fishing the same peg.

19. Day tickets are available from the Staunton Country Park Shop or on the bank from Park Rangers or Bailiffs. Day tickets run from 1 hour before dawn to 1 hour after sunset.

20. During official matches club members may only fish from the island pegs 1-13 and give way to the match anglers where required. Match dates available via visitor centre. Notices will be posted bank side prior to match days.

21. Fishing only from numbered pegs as shown on map.

22. Car park open 8.30am-4.30pm. Members fishing overnight must place their car pass in the windscreen if they wish their cars to be locked in overnight.

23. No vehicles are allowed on site without the express permission of Park Staff.

24. The lake may be closed to anglers to allow for maintenance or repair work as directed by the Park Manager. In event of closure, notices will be posted.

25. No responsibility is accepted for loss or damage to personal property, all anglers entering the CountryPark do so entirely at their own risk.

Failure to comply with these rules may result in being banned from the park.
