Description: Rookery Lake is 2.5 acre area of water with an island situated at the far end, it is set within just under 6 acres of woodland. We are a syndicated Carp lake with a maximum of 50 members.

The area was created in the 17th century by local monks who used the lake to breed leather carp to be used for both food and trade, they used this type of carp as they didnt need to de-scale them, we believe the strain of the original fish is still within the lake today.

Some time later the lake became part of the Rookery Estate and was used for many years as an ornamental boating lake for use by the residents and guests of Bromley Hall. Today Rookery Lakes offers a unique oportunity to fish in a unique, tranquil and historic enviroment.

Rookery Lake is flanked by mature rhododendron trees, and served by a parameter path leading to a surfaced car park and toilet facilities.

The lake contains mixed species of fish such as Crucian Carp, Tench, Bream, Pike, Roach and Perch and was stocked in 2001/2002 with an excess of 100 Carp many of which were between 10 and 24lbs.

All of our swims are level, boarded and big enough to accomodate long stay anglers, many of these are double swims.

The path which goes around the parimeter leads to the toilet facilities and fresh water on tap, these are both near to the car park.

The Lake is regulary baliffed by a game keeper who is also pest control, if you have any problems he will be on hand to help.

Only a few minutes drive from the Lake is a 24 hour garage, McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Shops (both take away and delivery) Indian and Chinese take-aways and of course many good public houses.
