Description: Butterswood Lakes and Cottages is situated in the tranquil village of Goxhill, near Barrow upon Humber in North Lincolnshire. The Lakes and Cottages are set back from the road in approximately 11 acres of mature, tree lined ground, providing a secluded fishing and visiting experience. There is a varied range of natural wildlife on site.

The fishery is made up of four fishing lakes that contain mirror and common carp, tench, crucian, rudd, roach and perch. There is a car park on site and vehicular access is by gate during the hours of 7am - 8pm during the summer months and 8am - 4pm during the winter months.

The site benefits from a small on-site tackle shop stocking Middy tackle and Dynamite Baits.

Season ticket membership is available, however fishing can be accessed on a day ticket basis.

There are 3 holiday cottages on site providing comfortable and homely self-catering holiday facilities. The holiday cottages have a private fishing area accessed via the rear of each cottage, and not available to day ticket visitors.

Beech Cottage is a 2 storey, 1 double bedroomed and 2 double sofa bed, cottage which has a conservatory and lake aspect.

Oak Cottage is a single storey, 2 bedroomed, 1 double and 2 single, with a lake aspect view.

Willow Cottage is a single storey, 1 double bedroomed, with disabled access and wet room, with a lake aspect.

In addition to the fishing lakes, the grounds have picnic areas available for the use of holiday guests as well as day ticket visitors.

Tench Pond

The Tench Pond was the third of the ponds to be developed. This pond was historically known for the numerous tench and perch within it, but has suffered over the years with weed, although fishing was still possible.

Considerable work has been carried out to the pond to clear out the large amount of weed present and we are looking forward to seeing the results of this.
