Description: Our specimen lake, where the majority of Carp are up to 38lb and the record one-day pleasure catch stands at 280lb!
Size and depth: A 2 acre lake with only 18 pegs and depths of 5 feet at the south end to 16 feet at the north end. The most popular methods are Feeder and Ledger fishing, but Pole fishing for silvers can be very rewarding. Information: Tree lined banks all around the lake give plenty of cover for the fish in the summer months, but when the sun is full on the open water they can be seen in their shoals sunbathing near the surface, a sight not to be missed! By late afternoon to early evening you just need a line in the edge, where you will find all the big fish grubbing around for left over bait. Species: Other good specimens in this lake are Tench (to 10lb), Grass Carp (to 20lb), Bream (to 7lb) and Roach of 3lb 10oz have also been recorded. For winter fishing there is a large head of Pike weighing up to 29.5lb. |
