Description:
Toft Newton Coarse fishery holds a large head of coarse fish. The 40 acre concrete bowl reservoir is fed with water pumped from the River Witham at Short Ferry via a 12 mile long 48" diameter pipeline. The reservoir was last drained in the early eighties and therefore any coarse fish pumped in way back then bred and were the ancestors of the fish we see today. Perch Roach to 4lb and Bream to 15lb have been recorded after taking artificial flies offered by the day ticket trout anglers.
Toft Pike sport has really hotted up over the last few years with fish to 15lb+. It would be nice to think that a 30+ would be lurking in the depths somewhere though!
