Description: Dug out using people power back in the early 1900s, the lake now attracts all kinds of water birds. Take some time to see how many you can spot. Some are here all year round, and others drop by for the winter months.

Fishing is available on the lake for most of the year.

Rules:

Visitors are reminded that Vision RC&L does not accept liability for personal injury, loss, theft or damage to personal property.

Please read rules below carefully

01. You must be in possession of a valid Environment Agency (EA) rod licence.

02. Fishing is restricted to the North Bank of the lake.

03. Fishing is only permitted between dawn and dusk. NO night fishing.

04.Maximum of 2 rods, which cannot be left unattended.

05. No fish to be kept in keepnets or sacks.

06. All fish must be returned to the water immediately.

07. Unhooking mats must be used.

08. Barbless or crushed barb hooks only.

09. No guns, air pistols/rifles or weapons allowed.

10. No bonfires, barbeques or other cooking devices allowed.

11. Any damage to fixtures, fittings, park furniture, structures or buildings within the site will not be tolerated and may lead to further action being taken.



12. If Vision officers deem you to be in possession of, or under the influence of, excessive alcohol, you will be asked to leave.

13. All litter to be removed from site or placed in bins.

14. Do not damage any vegetation or trees.

15. Anyone causing injury to waterfowl or wildlife will be banned.

16. Umbrellas only, NO bivvies, tents or other shelters permissible.

17. Vision management have the right to alter fishing times at any time.

18. No refunds will be made for mislaid, lost or stolen tickets.

19. Children under the age of 12 will not be able to fish without adult supervision.

20. Dogs and children must be kept under strict control.

21. Tickets and licences are to be shown to any Vision staff on request; abusive behaviour to any Vision staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

22. Under no circumstances will vehicles be allowed on any part of the site other than in a designated carparks.

23. Vehicles will not be allowed on to site after the main gates have been locked.

24.Hainault Forest lake operates a closed season.

25. Only authorised swims will be available, use of an unauthorised swim will result in the angler being asked to leave.

26. No bait boats.

27. No casting out when boats are within 100 metres.

28. Vision management may alter angling times dependent on other activities on the lake.

29. Concession tickets are made available to over 60's and under 16's. proof of age will be required.

30. Failure to observe any of the rules or any reasonable request given by a member of Vision staff or any other agent for them i.e., Park guard, or acting in a manner deemed to interfere with the enjoyment of others using the facilities will result in expulsion, loss of ticket, and may result in further action. Closed season is 15 March to 15 June.
