Rules:

Fishing season 16 June to 14 March, unless otherwise stated.

Any anglers aged 13 and over must be in possession of a valid and appropriate Environment Agency Rod Fishing Licence and must present it when asked by council and or EA officers.

You can check which licence you need at www.gov.uk/fishing-licences.

Barbless hooks only to be used.

All anglers must have a landing net which should be ready for use prior to fishing.

All anglers must have an unhooking mat which should be ready for use prior to fishing.

Overnight fishing is permitted as long as noise is kept to a minimum, ie no amplified music.

Bivvies/fishing shelters or tents in relation to fishing ONLY are permitted but must not obstruct footpaths.

Keep nets and keep sacks are not permitted a retaining sling may be used for a short period while fish recover.

Braided line is not permitted.

Live baiting is not permitted.

Bait boats are not permitted.

No fixed leads or unsafe or multi-hook rigs to be used rigs must be shown to patrol officers for inspection upon request.

No hand lines.

No fish are to be removed from site. All fish caught must be released unharmed back into the water.

No fish from outside sources to be released into the lake or rivers.

Catapults can only be used to introduce bait into the water and not for any other reason.

Any lost line or rigs should be reported to the Green Spaces team on 01895 556000.

Lake and river site rules.

Dogs must be kept under control at all times. No more than 4 dogs per person except licensed professionals up to 6 dogs.

Dogs must be placed on a lead if requested by a council officer.

Please pick up after your dog and dispose of waste in the dog waste bins located around the site.

Waterfowl and wildlife must not be threatened or harmed in any way, i.e. by throwing stones or missiles.

The following are prohibited and relate to the whole site, ie the lake, adjacent River Colne and River Frays, fishing platforms, seating, picnic and grass areas, all footways, car parks and laybys.

Remote controlled, petrol driven, motorised watercraft and or model vehicles.

Boats and dinghies unless operated by a contractor and or specifically sanctioned by the council.

No Inflatables of any type, including lilos and swim rings, and paddle boards.

No Firearms, air arms or crossbows.

No Laser pens and orlaser pointers.

Swimming or entering the water unless in an emergency situation.

The placing of any type of religious offering into the water or anywhere on site.

No Open fires.

No BBQs.

No Drones, small, unmanned aircraft - www.hillingdon.gov.uk/article/2316/drone-policy.

No Magnet fishing.

No Metal detecting.

The use of motorbikes, quads, mopeds, motorised scooters, except for mobility scooters other than on the highway.

No Being under the influence of buying or selling controlled drugs and or other psychoactive substances.

No Selling of food, including ice cream, and or beverages without the express permission of the council.

No Littering, litter bins on site should be used or litter taken home.

No Alcohol after having been required to stop by an authorised enforcement patrol officer.

No Urinating and or defecating except in the toilet premises designed for the purpose not open 24 hours.

No Antisocial behaviour including foul and or abusive language.

No Fly tipping.

To encamp with or without a vehicle, this includes the use of shelters outside of those used for fishing within the open fishing season.

No Fireworks and or sky lanterns.

No Damage to fishing platforms, banks, trees or aquatic plants.

No Removal of signage.

No Leaving the engine of a stationary or parked vehicle running.

No Sleeping in parked vehicles overnight Enforcement officers patrol the site regularly and anyone not complying with the rules will be asked to leave immediately. Refusal to leave will result in the police being called and, in cases of Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) breaches, on-the-spot fines can be issued.

These rules are subject to change if deemed necessary.
