Rules: Chorlton Carp Anglers Rules Membership. 1. Full memberships are limited to 75 anglers. 2. Day only tickets are also available which allow fishing from 8am to dusk. 2a. Tickets will go on sale to members from the previous year who have attended at least 2 work parties during the previous year on March 1st 3. Work parties will be held on the last Sunday of every month. 4. Tickets will go on general sale on April 1st and will be sold on a 1st come 1st served basis. General: 1. Fishing will be permitted from all pegs between April the 1st and December 13th. 2. Fishing will only be permitted from pegs 1 to 10 and 18 to 23 between December the 14th and March 31st. 3. All anglers in possession of a season ticket are permitted to ask other anglers to see their ticket. Any anglers asked for their ticket regardless of how long you or the person asking has fished the lake must show their ticket. If you are asked by someone you dont know dont take offence, take it as an opportunity to get to know the person asking. Any refusal to show tickets must be reported to the bailiffs or the committee. 4. Fishing will not be permitted from any pegs when spawning is in process and this will be reviewed on a weekly basis. Notices will be posted around sites to inform anglers when the lake is closed. 5. Fishing in the reeds or wading from peg 35 into the compound along the reeds is strictly forbidden and will result in a 12 month ban if caught. 6. Threatening or abusive behaviour towards council officers, CCA bailiffs or members of the public is not acceptable. All incidents will be logged and reported to the police if necessary. 7. The use of 'bivvies is permitted only during the fishing season and is restricted to dark brown or green tents designed to hold no more than two people. Anything other than this is deemed as camping, which is not allowed at the park. 8. Fires or barbecues are not allowed in the water park except for those authorised by Manchester City Council. 9. Fishing is only permitted from numbered pegs. Fishing from boats, slipways, dock and islands and from behind willow groynes is not allowed. 10. Fishing is not allowed after nightfall or before 8.00am except by anglers with full season ticket. 11. Junior season ticket holders (under 18) may only fish at night when accompanied by an adult over 25. 12. Priority is always given to disabled blue badge holders on pegs 1 and 2. 13. Fishing directly or indirectly into fenced compound areas is not allowed. 14. Wading into the water is not allowed for any reason. 15. Anglers must comply with rod licence checks from the Environment Agency bailiffs and angling ticket checks from park staff and CCA bailiffs. 16. A day or season ticket allows the holder to use three rods. No angler may use more than three rods. 17. Only barbless hooks are allowed. The use of barbed or micro-barbed hooks is not allowed (including crimped barbs). 18. The use of live fish as bait is not allowed. Dead bait should be of species non-native to the lake. 19. The use of inflatable dinghies, bait boats or any other vessels for baiting-up, ground baiting or any other use is not allowed. 20. All Fish including eel and pike must be returned alive to the water. 21. Any fish caught must be returned to the water immediately including Pike and Carp after weighing or photographing. 22. All fish must be landed and removed from the hook in the correct manner, taking into consideration the welfare of the fish. All anglers must have access to a landing net and Disgorger. 23. Rods with baited hooks must not be left unattended, whether the line is in the water or wound in. Anglers must always be no further than 10 metres away from their rods. 24. It is not permitted for an angler to use or attend two pegs at once. 25. Anglers will be responsible for all litter, shot and line in the vicinity of the peg they are using, regardless of the origins of the litter. 26. The council reserves the right to restrict fishing to designated areas and times, and to vary these at its discretion, or to limit angling to specified pegs. 27. All anglers must not use pegs reserved for fishing matches. 28. Only disabled blue badge holders may park in the disabled parking bays provided. Any angler whose vehicle is found anywhere else on site will be banned from angling. 29. Fixed leads are not allowed i.e. lead weights must fall free if the fishing line is snapped. 30. An Angler fishing for Carp must have available an Unhooking Mat of a size able to cope with carp over 30lb. |
