Rules:

Ravensthorpe Carp Syndicate

Syndicate Information:

01. Carp Syndicate season runs from the 1st of September until the 31st August.

02. Membership can be purchased from the 1st of August 2023 at Pitsford Fishing Lodge.

03. 30 syndicate memberships are available annually.

04. Carp fishing will be permitted at Ravensthorpe Water 24/7, 365 days a year.

05. 2023/24 Syndicate membership is £600 per member.

Syndicate Rules

06. If you are unsure on any rules and regulations please speak to an AW staff member first.

07. Membership of the syndicate is on the condition that these rules will always be followed.

Membership may be terminated by Anglian Water at any time for rule breaking or any bad behaviour will not get a refund.

08. Members must show the maximum possible respect to other carp members, trout anglers and public visiting the water by always being polite and courteous.

09. Season Permit holders are allowed a maximum of 3 rods on Ravensthorpe. Please ensure you have the appropriate EA licence to always cover your rods and season ticket on yourperson.

10. Please be 'on your rods' at all times. Rods must be fished from the same swim and not spread along the bank.

11. Whilst the water is open to boat anglers from 8am until dusk, carp syndicate members must consider where they are casting their lines. Boats must stay 50 metres from a bank angler so please do not cast further than 50 metres. When there are no boats on the reservoir or atnight the casting length is unlimited.

12. The following bait is permitted at Ravensthorpe Water: Boilies (18mm minimum) Particles (fully prepared), Trout pellets, nuts or any other form of bait is strictly not permitted.

13. We expect all anglers to look after their catches to the highest standards, large or small.Carp cradles must be used along with tripods. Fish should not be held in a sack. All fish must be unhooked or hook link cut within the water before removal. The use of a carp retainer should only be used if necessary and for the absolute minimum period, a maximum of 15 minutes. The fish's wellbeing is of paramount importance. The fish should have good water exchange and be in no less than 4 feet of water. Propolis fish care kit must be used on all hook holds/abrasions. Only lift fish from the water once fins are tight against the body. Break your net down first, or wrap a retaining sling around the broken-down net, beforelifting from the water.

14. Retention of fish for photos is allowed for short periods of up to 30 mins. Any longer andfishery management and or bailiffs must be called for permission of photography.

15. All carp caught over 35 pounds must be reported to the Anglian Water by telephone or textmessage.

16. No litter to be left at the swim or anywhere around the reservoir or in the water.

17. No cutting, or removing, of weeds, reeds, bushes, trees, etc. No climbing trees.

18. No Open fires. Raised BBQs are acceptable

19. If a fish becomes snagged or tethered, please notify a bailiff or AW staff immediately. Wewill rescue the fish with a boat. Do not pull for a break!

20. If tackle is left in a tree or snag you must notify staff on 01604 770875 and we will retrieve it.

21. No tackle, equipment or personal items must ever be left unattended.

22. One non-fishing guest permitted at a time. One dog permitted however they must always remain on a lead. Clear up all mess and be respectful of our wildlife, other anglers, and visitors at all times.

23. The reserving of swims for yourself or other members is not allowed.

25. The maximum length of a session is three days and nights (72 hrs), after which time youmust not return to the site within 72 hrs (three days and nights) regardless of whether you fish 24 hrs, 36 hrs.

25. Anglian Water reserve the right to close the lake at any time they think fit and prior noticewill be given in writing whenever possible.

26. All gates to be closed and properly always locked unless opened for public use by Anglian Water employees.

27. Members should act as bailiffs where necessary and challenge anyone whom they suspect are not members, for proof of membership. Any presence of non-members seen fishing,attempting to fish or any rule breaking must be reported to Anglian Water as soon as possible.

28. The water may close for a period when fish are spawning. No fishing is allowed during this time. Speak to the shop or check the Whatsapp group for closures.

29. The use of micro barbed hooks is required.

30. Minimum breaking strain line (mono/fluorocarbon) 15lb b/s.

31. Baiting poles are allowed but will be monitored. Use them responsibly and do not place baits where you could not cast. Bait boats and spodding are not permitted.

32. Fishing boats can be hired at a cost of £5 per hour for the purpose of baiting and mapping the water's structures.

33. Boats can be hired for fishing purposes at day or half day rates. Our usual boat hire rules apply:

Lifejackets must be always worn. Boat hire may be prohibited if the windspeed is over 18mph for single anglers or 25 mph for a 2 man boat.

A mobile phone must be always be carried. Boats must be returned to the pontoon by the advertised time that day. Landing of boats is prohibited unless in an emergency. Fishing is prohibited when the engine is running.

No fishing within the marker buoys around the pontoon or from the pontoon.

34. Anglian Water have the right to amend these rules as they see fit at any time
