Description:

A natural water but with catches akin to a commercial venue the two charming ponds at Green Lane Farm are a great choice for the North-Eastern angler. Currently visitors have been catching big bags of F1s and silverfish on the complex's Small Pond despite the freezing temperatures. Meanwhile the Large Lake is the haunt of some big perch which make for a superb winter challenge.

SMALL POND 32 pegs This half acre, tree lined pool has depths of around 4-5ft and contains a huge mix of stock. At the moment anglers are catching well fishing the pole for silverfish, F1s and crucians as well as odd bream, tench and chub. Corn fished in the margins and pellets further out seem to be the best baits when targeting these in the winter. There are also plenty of big carp present that run to a little under 20lbs and they do fall regularly to specimen tactics including fishing with bright 12mm boilies. Most of the carp average a little over 10lbs so don't fish too light when these fish start moving around.

LARGE POND 12-15 swims At just short of an acre this lake features two tree filled islands. There are good marginal reeds in most pegs, and this water has the deepest areas towards the centre between the islands of between 13 and 15 foot. The remaining water has depths between 3 foot nearest the car park and 5 foot toward the top end of the lake. This lake holds the biggest of the carp at 25lb, with plenty of double figure fish also present. The remaining fish stocks are along similar lines to the small pond with a big head of bream and some big perch to over 3lb. Bream bags over 50lb are often recorded by anglers fishing the deeper water on the feeder while the perch can be targeted in the margins with meat or worm.
