Description: The Willows Lake: Pleasure fishing only. The Willows Lakes - The Oaks Lakes Sessay The Willows is the specimen lake at The Oaks Lakes complex. The lake is approximately 7 feet deep with a central island. There are Grass Carp to 25lb, Ghost carp to 26lb and Common/Mirror Carp to 28lb. In 2003, The Willows lake was extended and more islands were added allowing easier fishing for pleasure anglers. The lake also holds Roach, Bream, Tench, Perch, Ide and Barbel. The Willows lake can accommodate 30 anglers. Floating baits can be fished on The Willows Lake. Popular methods are single hook baits during the colder months i.e. corn, maggot clips or boilies. In Spring fish pellets or boilies with small PVA bags. In Summer pellets and boilies with large PVA bags or spodding works well. It is also worth trying a floating dog biscuit or large floating pellet for the carp off the top. Full cubes of Cat meat or luncheon meat also work on this lake. Fishery Rules: Fishing Rules and Regulations Barbless hooks only - no microbarbs. Fishery feed pellets only No dogs, excessive noise, litter, fires. Groundbait in feeders or pole cup. Night fishing by appointment only. Two rods allowed per person. Juniors below 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Anglers must be in possession of an assembled landing net at all times No fish to be removed from site. The use of Keepnets may be withdrawn at the discretion of the owner. All persons of the age of 12 and over require a valid Environment Agency Rod Licence.
