| Description: The water is stocked with a wide range of species including carp, F1's, tench, bream, perch, barbel and chub. There are some good sized carp, big doubles; these can be caught in the margins during the summer.
The pegs are the metal grill type ones that stick out into the water. You need to be careful when you are fishing, you are unlikely to find anything you drop! Putting bank sticks into the ground or setting up a brolly could be a faff if you can't. fasten them to your box. The venue is open all year round for pleasure fishing and also match bookings. If there is a match booking, then the lake will be closed for pleasure anglers. If you do turn up and there is a match on, or if the lake is full there then Little John Lakes or Springvale are fairly close alternative fishing options. |

Rules and Restrictions: All nets must be dipped before and after fishing. Landing nets and keep nets provided by Thoresby angling club for match bookings. Please call by and read the notice board for all up to date rules. Day Tickets, Membership and Prices: The fishing at Wellow Dam is charged at the following rates: Day tickets: £5 per rod. Match bookings: £5 per peg, or £100 for all 25 pegs. There are a limited number of season tickets available. The bailif will be able to provide more information their availability and cost. |
