Description: Hinksey Lake can now be fished on an Oxford and District permit, or day tickets can be purchased from the Park. Fish stocks - Perch, Bream, Roach. Tench average 3lb-4lb+, Chub to 4lb, and few double figure Pike come out during the winter months.......and then there are the big Carp that cruise the surface during the summer. The stock levels are quite low, but the size of the few Carp that are here have been a "best kept secret for years" .... the lake is seriously under fished !! Best baits -Sweetcorn, Worm, Maggot, and plenty of groundbait when targeting the Tench during the summer. (Boilies could be a good bet, if you can get the fish switched on to them).
