Fishery Rules

The main rule is COMMON SENSE but please read on.

The lakes are open from dawn to dusk.

No night fishing.

Please treat fish and other anglers with respect.

Before you start to fish you must have:

Barbless hooks.

A disgorger.

A fish friendly landing net capable of holding an over 10lb fish.

A Un Hooking mat.

As all our lakes now contain fish over 10lb you must have a Unhooking mat to place the fish on whilst you unhook it to avoid damaging the fish.

You must not place any fish directly on to the grass, ground or swim even if it's in a landing net.

Fish friendly keep nets only.

You must not mix different sizes of fish in the same keepnet to avoid smaller fish being damaged or crushed, for example a large tench can crush a small carp.

If you wish to keep all your fish in a net then you must use separate nets for the large and small fish.

No boilies, dried nuts or bloodworm or boilies can affect the water quality.

Dried nuts can swell inside fish and kill them.

Bloodworm can carry fish diseases.

All other baits limited to a maximum of 1kg, you won't need that much!).

Do not throw surplus bait into the lakes, bin it or take it home.

No rod to be left unattended.

No braided line.

No stalking of fish, you must fish from a peg.

No bait boats they are not necessary here.

14's and under MUST be accompanied by an adult, unless a valid season ticket holder.

No dogs.

No alcohol.

Please don't feed the wildfowl or encourage them to your swim.

Be particularly careful with discarded line and or hooks, as this can cause serious injury to wildlife (all litter must be placed in the appropriate bins).

LITTER It is a criminal offence to leave litter (including cigarette ends), please use bins provided. Bulky items such as chairs, fishing rods, umbrellas, etc must be taken home or to your nearest recycling centre.

Smoking is discouraged. If you wish to smoke, please consider nonsmokers around you and dispose of cigarette ends responsibly.

The cafe and toilet block are nonsmoking areas.

All visitors, their vehicles and possessions are permitted on the premises entirely at their own risk.

You need to have an Environment Agency Rod Licence to fish our lakes (just like every other fishery in the country).
