Description:

The venue consists of three lakes having recently being extended with the addition of a Strip pond. Aimed mainly at the pleasure angler, the landscaping and the pleasant surroundings make for a pleasurable days angling.

The first lake (Carp Lake) is named Hooton Hollows; it is the smaller of the two older ponds with 8 pegs. It is a well-established lake having been there now for over 7 years. There is good depth throughout and will fish well at most times of the year. It is tree lined and also very well planted with marginal reeds giving the angler lots of natural swims to fish. The lake is stocked with Carp from 14lb to 27lb.

The second lake is yet another Horseshoe named water. This is larger than the first at approx two Acres, it contains an island and has 42 pegs in total. It contains a very good head of Silver fish and Carp up to 14lb. The water is so full of Silver Fish that any fool with a pint of maggots could not fail to get into over 20lb of fish in a day. Pellets tend to sort the Carp out, whilst the maggot /caster approach is fine for the Silver Fish. The third and newest pond is the Strip pond, this is a mixed Silvers and Carp pond with 8 pegs.

The fish in both Horseshoe and Strip ponds are well within the reach of either pole or rod and line. I would take maggot, caster, meat and corn for a session fishing here. Pellet will take plenty of the smaller Carp. Bigger baits such as Luncheon Meat can take the bigger Carp present, although they have been known to be caught on light pole tackle.
