Description:
Barnsley Angling Association control some top quality waters that offer very good value in terms of day ticket fishing. The oddly named Tinkers Pond lies just on the outskirts of Barnsley still within the city limits. There are two waters to choose from known as top and bottom ponds.
Until recently the ponds were stocked massively with Tench to the exclusion of most other fish. This made the spring and summer sessions exceptional but the colder months were often a little barren. The Tench were thinned out and Carp and silver fish introduced.
The pond nearest the parking area is known as the Top Pond and has 17 pegs to choose from. The margins have a good 4ft and drop down steadily towards the bottom pond to depths of 11ft. furthest away is the Bottom Pond which is about the same size and has 11 pegs to choose from. It is also much shallower with 3ft in the margins but deeper places down to 6ft.
