Description: Swan Pit is located between Newport and Gnosall on the A518. It is around 3.5 acres and is inhabited by a healthy population of carp, bream, roach, and rudd. Additionally, there is a good head of perch, as well as some tench and crucians, but these species are not caught very frequently.

Rules:

Barbless Hook Sizes 22 - 20 - 18 - 16 - 14 on all waters - 12, 10 and 8 only allowed on the River Penk

Barbed Hook Sizes, only allowed on the River Penk and the Shropshire Union Canal. 18 - 20 - 22 - 24 - 26

No Bloodworms, Nuts or Boilies allowed in Club Waters.

Surface fishing only allowed on the Shropshire Union Canal and River Penk, No other waters though.

Please remove all litter, discarded line, hooks and shot when leaving Club Waters.

The club bailiffs are unpaid volunteers. They patrol the waters to protect the fishing for all. Any abuse or threatening behaviour towards any club official will not be tolerated.

Ground bait can be used in all waters. It should be used in moderation on still waters.

Only Carp Pellets to be used on still waters. No Trout Pellets.

Members disregarding the club rules could be expelled from the club, with no refund, at their first offence.
