Description: As we come to the completion of the restocking programme, Tarn Pond has now approximately 250 carp, with a mix of fast growing and slower growing fish. Most are now in double figures. The original Leney carp are being reported well into the 20lb mark. Lots of Tench are showing, largest at 9lb to date, Crucian Carp to 3lb+ with lots of small silver fish making for good mixed sport. The future is bright for Tarn Pond.

Local Byelaws

You may fish anywhere on Tarn Pond with the exception of the roadside dam.

We ask members to pay special note to Byelaw 4.h regarding litter and discarded line.



Night Fishing:

Night ticket operator Tel 07903 250905 which operates between 2.30pm 6:30pm daily (no voicemail or text messages will be accepted).

A Night Ticket System operates on this water from 16th June until 31st October each year.

You cannot night fish on this water between these dates unless you have booked your ticket.

See your handbook for full details of how to book your night ticket.

Twelve swims are signed as Night Priority. Any non night fishing member.

occupying one of these swims must vacate it to a member with a night fishing authorisation code, if so requested, one hour before sunset. Sunset will be defined as the daily published Lighting-Up times.

Non night fishing members must restrict their fishing to the period of 5:00am until 10:30pm and vacate the swim.

Catfish which are caught must be placed in the retention nets at the fisheries for removal (Byelaw 10).

Any Member or Guest not doing so, will face disciplinary action, as none of the venues are CEFAS approved for Catfish.



Directions and Parking:

Parking spaces are plentiful on both sides of Tarn Pond. Do not park on the road, especially the road alongside the dam, or in front of the cottage.
