Rules:

1. All anglers will observe all regulations of the Environment Agency (E.A)

2.Members will cause no damage, deposit no litter, or light fires and are expected to prevent such behaviour in others. Any person found leaving litter will be suspended immediately from the club for a one year period. Anyone found leaving discarded line will face disciplinary action and/or a lifetime ban from the club's waters.

3. Members are not permitted to enter the boundary of the island which shall be taken to be where the water meets the land on the island unless carrying out authorised maintenance work on behalf of the club. Members shall also prevent others from doing so where possible.

4.The use of bait boats, specifically designed for fishing and powered by sealed, dry cell batteries, shall be allowed by all paid up members of the club. The executive committee shall retain the right to ban the use of bait boats by individual members of the club who use the bait boat inappropriately or cause distress to other anglers (members and non members).

5. No swimming/wading allowed in the lake unless it is specifically to retrieve an angling item and only where another member is present and supervising the retrieval task.

6. Any member found infringing the associations rules or jeopardising the fishing rights will be asked to attend a hearing and may face disciplinary action which may lead to temporary of lifetime expulsion from the club.

7. Members must carry up to date and valid membership cards and up to date and valid E.A licence at all times when fishing the club's waters, anyone found fishing without these documents will be asked to cease fishing immediately.

8. Keepnets and landing nets must be a minimum length of 6ft(1.8m) long and made of knotless material. Members must not overcrowd keepnets and must ensure the well-being of their catch at all times.

9. Inspection of keepnets and their contents by committee members or club bailiffs at any time is permissible on production of appropriate club membership identification.

10. Members must adopt a responsible and courteous attitude to all members of the club and members of the public and must endeavour to avoid injury in any way.

11. Absolutely no fish are to be introduced to the waters of the association without the permission of the committee. Pike/Zander and Game fish should be removed from club waters if caught.

12. All native fish to be returned alive to the club water at the end of the fishing session.

13. No spinning allowed between dawn and dusk.

14. Suitable landing nets must be used by all anglers (members and non members) to prevent injury to the fish.

15. The lake will be closed 2 hours before any authorised match and for the duration of the match.

16. The use of live baiting in all forms with the exception of maggots, casters and worms, is forbidden.

17. The use of freshwater molluscs is forbidden.

18. No baited lines/hooks to be left unattended at any time. When fishing you may not leave your rods unattended and a maximum distance of 30 yards (27.5m) either side of your peg is your boundary. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in disciplinary action.

19. Split shot shall be of the nontoxic or lead substitute material.

20. Hooks used for carp must be barbless only and bent shank hooks are forbidden. Any club member may inspect another anglers' hook and if the hook does not pass through material without minimal snagging it must be removed and replaced. Any member found to be in breach of this rule on more than one occasion will face disciplinary action by the committee.

21. No carp of any size are to be retained in keepnets or sacks of any description, except in official club matches and in those circumstances, fish must not exceed 2lb (0.9kg) in weight. All other carp are to be returned alive immediately after weighing and photography, this does not apply to crucians.

22. Rules relating to the fishing of matches are to be explained verbally by match officials before the draw.

23. Members only (including junior members) may be permitted to make application to purchase a 3rd rod permit. The 3rd rod may only be used within the confines of the anglers' swim and the swims of other anglers must be respected at all times. Any member failing to adhere to this rule, will be subject to disciplinary action for breach of club rules. Blatant abuse/breach of the rule may lead to the withdrawal of all 3rd Rod permit from the offending angler. The concessionary winter rule for the period 1st October to 31st March will remain unchanged.

24. A day ticket permit is limited to the use of two rods only.

25. Day tickets must be purchased at least one hour before commencing fishing on the club's waters.

26. Any person fishing on a day ticket must not fish between dusk and dawn, i.e. non daylight hours.

27. Membership is from January 1st to December 31st annually. I.D cards and stamped, addressed envelopes (SAE) should be sent to the membership secretary when renewing by post or online. There will also be a membership renewal night in January (dates to be notified), members wishing to use the car park must be in possession of a council issued permit and must use the marked parking bays.

28. Anglers fishing specifically for carp must use either a suitable soft unhooking mat with a minimum size of 30 x 18 inches (76 x 45mm) or a specifically designed car cradle (preferred) to prevent damage to fish. Anglers must also use a deep specimen landing net with a minimum dimension of 36 inches (91cm). All anglers are encouraged to carry an unhooking mat at all times even if you are not specifically fishing for carp.

29. Tinned cans (with the exception of cold drink cans) e.g. sweet corn, meat etc. are not permitted on the bank at any time. Such baits should be prepared before arriving at the club water and stored in appropriate bait containers.

30. All committee and bailiffs to receive discounted membership as and when possible (financial status of the club).

31. All lead-core leaders are banned. The use of tubing is preferred, and naked lines are acceptable.

32. Carp Angling sessions are restricted to a maximum of 72 hours with a gap of 24 hours in between sessions before fishing on the club water . The angler is entitled to be accompanied by no more than one guest.

33. All children aged 14 or below MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times regardless of membership status.

34. The obstruction of the pathways around the lake with holdalls and rod bags and shipped poles etc. is forbidden. Fishing items are to be placed close to the peg you are fishing. Remember, the club water is enjoyed by non-fishing members of the public who should be allowed to enjoy the benefit of the lake also.

35. Care must be taken at all times when casting, look all around especially behind and be aware of boat users.

36. Care must be taken when using floating baits i.e. bread, dog mixer, to prevent bird life taking the bait.

37. If lines are snagged, take extra care and ensure that nobody can be hurt by flying leads etc.

38. Anglers fishing for carp should have a suitable carp care kit (Korda carp care or Klinic etc).

39. All members who are fishing are expected to carry a suitable landing net of the knotless type. To ensure that fish welfare is maintained at a high level. All fish over 6 inches (15cm) in length, shall be landed using a landing net and not swung to hand.
