Description: Harting Combe

4 acre pond in a lovely woodland setting. This pond contains Carp to 30lb, Tench to 8lb, Pike to 24lb and a selection of other fish such as Bream, Roach, Rudd and Perch.

Parking for the lake is only allowed in the car park adjacent to the roadside and the gateway is to be closed at all times.

Rules:

General venue rules:

No guests permitted, members only.

All general water rules apply.

2 rods may be used all year round, day and night.

Barbless or microbarbed hooks only.

Feeders must be free running; Guru hybrid feeders are permitted.

Only 2kg mixed groundbait is permitted per 24 hours.

Particle baits: see general rules.

Boilies may be used (2kg max) in a 24 hours period.

No surface baits are to be used if waterfowl are present, any member found doing so will be BANNED.

No fish to be retained in keepnets, slings or sacks.

Pike fishing all year round, all Pike rules apply.

No tins, cans or glass jars etc. NO LITTER, TAKE IT HOME! ...BE WARNED.

The public footpath to be kept clear at all times.

Only assistance dogs permitted to accompany those fishing.

Combe carp and night fishing rules:

All other general water rules apply unless otherwise stated.

Night anglers must book in via the booking system located on the website.

Night fishing is from dusk to dawn, 2 rods only.

Bookings can be up to 48 hours max Mon-Thus and 24 hours Fri-Sun, subject to availability. If an angler booked in for Friday night and wants to fish Saturday night, he/she must book in on-line or contact the bookings officer no earlier than Saturday 12 noon. Members fishing 48 hours must wait another 48 hours before booking again.

No night bookings will be taken for the night prior to a competition on the following day.

Carp Anglers must keep one member per peg, no doubling up. Junior and or Juvenile members must stay with the senior member for safety reasons, with no other exception. Maximum 1 rod each.

Barbed or microbarbed hooks only, size 4 maximum.

A minimum of 15lbs mainline must be used at all times.

The use of lead core leaders are allowed for Carp fishing only.

No fixed lead systems on any description leads, rigs must be able to come free if a breakage occurs.

Prepared nut baits can be used only as a hook bait, peanuts are BANNED.

No Prebaiting permitted.

No Spombing or Spodding permitted.

Members must be in possession of a padded unhooking mat when fishing, minimum size being 24"x36" and a minimum landing net size 42". Advisory: Members to use high sided mats/cradles of 900x600mm.

Carp must be released as soon as possible after capture; they can be retained in a proper floating Carp sling and net for the purpose of photography for a maximum of 10 minutes. No Wading permitted.

All members must carry a Carp care kit to treat any hook holds/or visual fish damage.

Lights for night fishing are limited to one and must not cause offence to others.

No fishing directly into the lily pads at any time.

No consumption of alcohol or recreational drugs is permitted.

No dogs to accompany those fishing at any time.



Fishing for Pike:

Line with a minimum breaking strain of 15lbs must be used with a wire trace of at least 12" in length.

Treble hooks when used must be barbless or semibarbless, minimum size 10 and maximum size 6.

Long forceps must be carried along with some form of wire cutter.

Only sea fish deadbait may be used. No live baiting is permitted on any Pdac waters.

Unhooking mats must be used, recommended size 36" x 24".

Surface lures may be permitted.

No members aged 16 or under may fish for Pike unless accompanied by an experienced adult member.

Pike fishing is permitted throughout the season.

Any members wishing to fish for Pike must be confident to handle them and have the suitable equipment. Any member not doing so will be required to stop fishing.



For Predator and Lure Fishing Only:

The use of braided MAIN LINE is permitted for Predator Lure fishing only on all club waters unless otherwise stated. These are only to be used in conjunction with mono hook length of lower breaking strain, or wire trace if Pike are present.

Any members wishing to fish for Pike must be confident to handle them and have the suitable equipment. Any member not doing so will be required to stop fishing.



Night Fishing:

members are required to book in for nights via the booking platform, located on this site.

Fishing will be permitted for up to 48 hours with a maximum of 5 anglers on any one night from Monday until Thursday.

24 hours max Friday until Sunday.

Fishing a night without booking in will result in being asked to leave.
