Description: Shear Water Lake is a fabulous 36 acres, positioned amongst stunning woodland, located near Warminster, Wiltshire. Its a fishery very much on the up, catering for all kinds of anglers with its wide variety of species.

Rules: Open 24hrs for fishing but gates are to be kept closed and locked at all times after passing through. Concession rate tickets are for under 16 and over 65 plus disabled badge holders and military ID card holders only. Only Blue badge holders and 65+ are allowed to park on the dam wall weekdays only. The gate to the dam wall and car parks will be on a coded padlock and the code for this will be sent via email the day before your session. Release outside of these hours requires a security call out at a charge of £60.00 . Carp Fishing, 3 rods max. Pleasure Fishing, 2 rods max. Environment agency rod license required. Checks will be carried out. No parking behind swims. Please drop equipment off and park in the car parks in allocated areas. The speed limit on site is 5mph. Pedestrians have priority. Carp anglers must have the correct carp tackle, mats, cradles, 40" plus landing net, 12lb minimum line and carp care kit. No keep nets orr carp sacks or retention slings to be used unless in an official match. All carp must be returned to the water safely. No fish are to be taken or killed for any other reason. Micro barbed hooks only for carp fishing. Barbless may be used only if targeting silver fish in matches. Strictly no tents. Bivvies and fishing umbrellas are only to be used. Fishing with rod and line only. No other method is to be used. Braided mainlines are only permitted for predator angling or spodding. No dangerous rigs. Lead must be able to drop in the event of a break, rig checks will be carried out by the bailiff team. Dogs are to be tethered and under control at all times. All dog mess is to be bagged and taken home. Swims to be kept tidy whilst fishing. All litter is to be removed from pegs. Please take your rubbish home. No Bait Boats. No Drones. No Bright Lights. No Loud Radios or Music. Strictly No open fires, but BBQs can only be used if raised off the ground along with anything else along them lines, as long as it does not mark the ground. No excessive alcohol. No drugs. Any persons causing a disturbance will be required to leave without a refund. Offenders will be reported to the security team and local fisheries. U13s only with supervision. Under 16s can fish free if using the allocation of rods of the supervising angler. Pike fishing from 1 October to 30 March inclusive. Dead sea baits only. Strictly no live baiting. No sea fishing tackle. Historically Blue Green Algae has occasionally been detected at Shearwater. Be aware of this when eating and drinking. Keep contact with the water to a bare minimum. Hand sanitiser should be used. Wading rules: It is reminded that you are only allowed to wade 1 rod length out to safely land fish in times of low water. in the event of a snagged fish wading further is permitted but you must have a life jacket and preferably a wading staff. Wading is only permitted with suitable thigh chest waders. Management can not be held responsible for any Blue Green Algae issues and you are fishing at your own risk. Please take your rubbish home. No rubbish to be left in the swim even if it is not yours. The estate and the fishery management cannot be held responsible for any damage caused whatsoever. |
